ABOUT THE SHOW

Curated by Bruce Brown, InnerVisions pairs the photography of Linda Mahoney with that of David Wade. Axiomatically, photography captures the external; a photographic image depicts something outside of the camera, outside of the artist; something that exists in an external world. But that image is defined by the internal; it is defined by the choices of the artist and by how the artist sees the external world. When we see a photograph, we see the external world filtered through an inner artistic vision.

Mahoney and Wade's photographs in this exhibition highlight that reality. Often, the external object or environment is unrecognizable, but the mesmerizing beauty of what each artist saw through the camera in that moment is on full view.
