ARTIST STATEMENT
Driven by a desire for quietude, I create works that offer pause within an era defined by hyper-connectivity and sensory overload. sitting quietly… invites the audience to sit while wearing a noise-reduction headset, and contemplate a space defined by light within a void. The work responds to the inherent paradoxes of contemporary culture: the tensions between connection and isolation, progress and regress, noise and silence. By stripping away external stimuli, the installation offers a quiet retreat for reflection, shifting focus from the surrounding environment back onto the inner self.
